Our Story
Every good brew has a backstory — here’s ours.
Creeks Cuppa was founded by two coffee-obsessed locals, John Creek and Lucy Charters, right here on Fore Street in Exeter. What started as a dream over too many late-night espressos turned into a mission: create a proper local coffee shop with strong coffee, good food, and zero corporate fluff.
We weren’t interested in sterile chains or burnt milk — we wanted to serve up locally roasted beans, homemade treats, and actual human connection. The kind of place where you’re greeted with a grin (and maybe a sarcastic comment), not a script.

Every great cup starts with a story—and ours comes straight from Exeter’s heart.
Creeks Cuppa was born from a coffee-fuelled dream shared by two Exeter locals: John Creek and Lucy Charters, who first met over espresso and pasión. Determined to bring local people together—and decent coffee back into their hands—they took a leap of faith and opened their café on 96 Fore Street, Exeter.
What began as one couple’s passion project, became a buzz-worthy reality: "an Exeter couple take massive step… launching a cosy, community-focused coffee shop with personality"
